Dr. Gurbachan Lal

Dr Lal graduated with his dental degree in 2007 and has over 16 years of experience. Lal has worked in Brisbane, Murrumba Downs for more than 5 years before relocating permanently to Hervey Bay.

Lal is a very gentle and caring dentist. He loves practising all general fields of dentistry and has a particular eye for detail in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

Having a committed passion for the latest and highest standard of dentistry, Lal has completed his post-graduate Masters in Clinical Dentistry in dental implants from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Completed training in All on 4 dental implant treatments with Nobel Biocare and Malo Clinic (Inventor of original All on 4 concepts). He has also completed a Mini residency in Prosthodontics with highly respected Australian Prosthodontists Dr Tony Rotondo and Dr Michael Mandikos. More recently has expanded his skills by completing courses with renewed Steigman Institute Germany for soft tissue gum surgeries.

Lal continuously updates his knowledge and skills by regularly attending various courses and seminars. He is also very active in the dental community and is a member of various dental associations.

When Lal is not working or studying he spends his time with his wife Monika and two young daughters Nidhi and Nikita. He enjoys cricket and loves spending time with his family.

Dr. Marek Rohozinski

Dental Surgeon

Marek has been practising dentistry since 1978 and is the principal of Pialba Dental. As well as general dentistry qualifications, Marek has a particular interest in restorative, reconstructive, and cosmetic dentistry with a focus on implant technology and ceramic applications.

Marek’s dental career began in 1973 while serving in the Army Reserve Dental Corp until he graduated from Adelaide University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. During this time he also worked part-time as a dental technician. Continuing his love of Dentistry, Marek operated his own practice in Adelaide and in the ensuing years, accepted opportunities with the Royal Flying Doctors, The School Dental Service, Gilles Plains Hygienist School, and as a tutor in pediatric dentistry at Adelaide University.

By attending several dental congresses and courses each year Marek embraces new ideas and dental methodology, to ensure staff and patients of Pialba Dental continue to receive the technological benefit of the advances in dental care.

Marek has been a local of Hervey Bay since 1982 and enjoys fishing, boating, and four-wheel driving in his spare time.

Dr. Monika Gupta

B.D.S

Dr Monika graduated with her dental degree in 2007 and has over 14 years of experience in dentistry. Monika is a very caring and gentle dentist and patient’s comfort is her first priority. She loves practising all aspects of general dentistry. Being a mother of two young kids, she loves treating children. She has a special interest in Preventative and Restorative dentistry and she believes that “Prevention is better than cure”.

Monika keeps updating her knowledge and skills by attending various courses. She likes listening to music and in her spare time, she likes to do art and craft work.

Dr. James Chien

BDS

Dr James Chien has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and a wealth of experience to bring to his patients. Born in Taiwan, he attended high school in Auckland and University in Dunedin. His interests include Implant Dentistry and Oral Surgery, and he most enjoys helping his patients with their smiles. Outside of work, Dr Chien enjoys working up a sweat in a Crossfit class, as well as spending quality time with his family.
